Previous remarks from Microsoft said they laid off employees to put the company in the best position for “success in a dynamic marketplace.”

Nadella acknowledged the uncertainty that surrounds the organisation, and pointed out that the company’s success will be based on its people’s ability to navigate the process of “unlearning” and “learning.”

“But I have full confidence that we can, and we will once again find the resolve, courage, and clarity to deliver on our mission in this new paradigm,” he said.
